STUDY OF ANTROPHOGENIC IMPACTS ON TERRESTRIAL ECOSYSTEMS DYNAMICS

Project of the basic research program of the Earth Sciences Department of the Russion Academy of Sciences "Physical and chemical processes in atmosphere and cryosphere determining climate and enviroment change",
leader Dr. Leonid L. Golubyatnikov

Project dates        2009–2011

Information

The project is aimed at the estimation of athropogeneic impact on the terrestrial ecosystem dynamics, as well as developing new techniques for analyzing connections in the system climate-biota. In order to solve these problems the following models will be used as basic: climate model of intermediate complexity of the A.M.Obukhov Institute of atmospheric physics and dynamic model of global vegetation pattern developed by the project authors. In the project context ensemble numerical experiments with this climate model allowing for global and regional biogeophysical and biogeochemical influence of ecosystem change on the climate state taking into account their coupled dynamics.
