Born January 22, 1962, in the village of Obraztsovo, Moscow Region, USSR. Graduated from Moscow State University (Mathematics and Mechanics Department) in 1984, with a qualification of mathematician. In 1984-88 I worked in the Research Institute of Precise Apparatus (Moscow) as a mathematician. In 1988 I got a 3-year post-graduate fellowship at the Computer Centre of the USSR Academy of Sciences. In 1991 I entered the Laboratory of Mathematical Ecology, Institute of Atmospheric Physics as a Junior Researcher. The degree of Candidat of Physical-Mathematical Sciences was conferred in 1994 for the thesis entitled "Mathematical Model of Ordination Routine". In 1994-97 I was acting head of the Laboratory of Mathematical Ecology and in 1997-2002 I headed the Laboratory. Since 2002 I have the academic rank of Senior Researcher.
