MODELLING ECOLOGICAL SYSTEMS BY A GIVEN “STORAGE - FLOW” DIAGRAM

Summary Investigated are properties of a class of ecosystem models to be constructed by “storage-flow” diagrams well-known in mathematical ecology. An algorithm to construct such dynamic models was proposed by Yu.M. Svirezhev. For the resulting systems of ordinary differential equations established are dissipativeness conditions, the invariance of nonnegative cone in the phase space, and the form of the Jacobi matrix in equilibrium. Examples are presented of numerical experiments with models of a particular wetland ecosystem. Download (PDF) |
