EFFECT OF THE PRODUCTIVITY OF GRASS ECOSYSTEMS ON THE UNDERLYING-SURFACE ALBEDO

Summary The dependence of the relative leaf area on the productivity of grass cover is analyzed on the basis of experimental data. It is established that this dependence is not à one-to-one correspondence. It is shown that the integral albedo of the underlying surface covered with vegetation can be determined as à function of the values of its overground phytomass. À proposed semiempirical model allows one to calculate the albedo of grass cover in relation to the values of its productivity. The threshold values of the grass albedo and phytomass at which the relation between these quantities becomes ambiguous are determined. Download (PDF) |
